Alex Kalamaroff

I am a New York-based writer. I have published essays and book reviews in Lambda Literary, The Millions, The Rumpus, the New York Public Library Zine, and Vol. 1 Brooklyn. I've studied literature, beauty, and arts education at Syracuse University and Harvard University. Currently, I am writing a novel about the power of queer storytelling under an authoritarian regime.

In my everyday life, I work in K-12 education, where I get many compliments on my color-coded spreadsheets; in my fashion life, I've begun exploring Earth Tones (olive green and eggplant purple are my new favorite colors). I'm a great lover of hobbies. Lately, I have dabbled in stand-up comedy, printmaking, gold-leafing, collage-crafting, floral design, and taxidermy.
